Nihonto no Kenkyū 日本刀 剣の研究 Lecture: Study of the Japanese Sword A technical discussion on the history of the Japanese Sword touching on its classification, construction, use on the battlefield, and cultural significance in olden Japan. Examples of swords will be on display and discussed. Mark Ceskavich is a DeLand, Florida resident. His present and past memberships in Japanese Sword related associations include The Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK) – American Branch, Kokusai Tosogu Kai, New York Token Kai, Florida Token Kai, and Japanese Sword Society of the United States. His study of Nihonto began in the 1980’s and he remains active in the Southeast Japanese Sword community . |
