JAPANESE COOKING CLASS: ANIMITSU August 5th, 6-8pm Class size is limited to 8 participants. $20/person Instructor Mayumi Soeda will teach students how to create ANMITSU, a traditional Japanese sweet treat enjoyed during the summer season that uses seasonal fruits, sweet red beans and ice cream or mochi. This class takes place on the second floor of our facilities and can only be accessed by stairs at this time. Please notify us if you have mobility issues and we can make accommodations. Your Instructor: Mayumi Soeda Sensei is from Nagasaki Japan and has a strong passion for Japanese language and literature. She has a master's degree in linguistics from Nagasaki University and a bachelor’s degree in Japanese literature from Kumamoto University. Soeda Sensei has been a licensed teacher for middle and high school Japanese literature for 32 years and specializes in teaching Japanese language at the university level. Furthermore, she also successfully passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test, demonstrating her expertise in this field. In addition to her teaching qualifications, Mayumi San is a Japanese calligraphy instructor (Shodo) with a 5 Dan level of expertise in calligraphy with a Level 2 achievement in the Kanji Proficiency Exam. She is married and has 2 grown children. |
